I'm still glowing from spending a week with such beautiful and inspiring people from around the world at my Spring retreat with Yoga Weeks Barcelona. I'm in awe of the human spirit and how incredibly authentic we can connect to ourselves and to each other, if given the chance. So often consumed with daily demands, we often forget that we need to invest in our own well-being. We need to consciously give ourselves the space and time to retreat, relax and recharge.
Three years ago, I attended my first ever wellness retreat. As I’m writing this a day before attending a wellness retreat, in my hometown of Los Angeles, 6,000 miles away from my new home of Barcelona, I’m reminded and inspired by the life-changing benefits of retreats.
Imagine starting your morning as you greet the sun shining down your face, with the fresh breeze against your skin, and the sound of birdsong energising you for the day ahead. Envision yourself having the space and time out of your normal routine to 'just be" and do whatever YOU want that will nourish YOUR soul. Consider meeting other like-minded people from around the world - where you're free to explore and connect in a city steeped with history, culture and beauty. Ponder the feeling of sand on your feet as you walk towards a private boat for your Mediterranean Sea tour. Anticipate learning new and healthy ways to shift your energy, change your perspective and transform your life. Imagine ending your day as the sun sets down on your face, with the night breeze against your skin, and the city sounds coming to a blissful end.
