Are You Ready to Finally Let It Go?

Riding off the sold-out success of my last Barcelona retreat I’m so excited to announce my upcoming winter urban retreat. This is one of the only two retreats I will be facilitating next year in 2017. We will again harness the power of the full moon to let go of what not longer serves us. Maybe you’re wondering, “How do I let go of old fears and limiting beliefs while being on retreat?” Well I’ll get there. But first I’d like to share a bit about my own story.
When I moved to London over a decade ago sure it was new and exciting. But anything or anyone I thought I could forget and leave across the pond still found its way into my new European life. Because the truth is, no matter how far you travel or move from your hometown there’s no running away from your emotional baggage. Any past hurts, fears, or limiting beliefs stay with you until you do the inner work. And by work I mean: face it, acknowledge it, accept it, learn from it and move forward. Throughout the course of my life there were moments I searched for answers and healing from psychologists. And while there are some benefits to such therapists, I strongly believe nothing can ever replace doing the conscious inner work to heal yourself. There is no amount of professionals that can do that for you. They can provide an unbiased ear, but the motivation to change and lasting peace must come from within. Which is why I’m a huge believer in the power of yoga, meditation, and coaching.
We all have some form of emotional baggage – conscious or subconscious. While making peace (sometimes aka forgiveness) with people or situations often involves a conscious choice to let go, this process of letting go our desire to be right, our perceived need for others, or even to release someone of an obligation can sometimes be challenging and even painful. But when we do the work to release these this provides a powerful catalyst for personal growth and transformation in your body, mind and spirit.
As we consciously let go of what no longer serves us, we uncover more of our true nature – a state of joy and love. When we release our need to “hold on” we can start to embody who we really are and live a life we love. And this process of “letting go” is even more powerful during a full moon, providing meaningful opportunities for reflection and progress.
While talk therapy may take years to release emotional baggage, a ritual, with spiritual intent (such as leading up to and on the full moon) can be a powerful practice that brings healing, honours the spirit and nurtures the emotional self in the process. Rituals help create a sacred intention around release, connecting us to a higher purpose and blessing of peace even amongst our resistance.
This may sound too woo woo for some – I get it. I’m a wife, mother, my college education was in business and I grew up in a very religious (not spiritual) house. But this work is real and it’s my absolute heart-felt intention that you too can finally make the powerful shifts in your life, so you can remember your true nature – peace, love and joy.
