What’s Really Important to You?

Have you ever admired something or a lifestyle so much that you worked really hard to get it or get there yourself?

And once you arrived, ever feel as if something was still missing?

Or perhaps that material wealth was at the cost of your physical and emotional health?

I know I did – and from an early age too.

I remember as an elementary student being bussed everyday to a school that was in a ‘better’ neighborhood with kids that were, ‘supposedly’ more well-off. I envied their designer threads, fancy houses and luxury cars. And I admit there were some times I felt inadequate, even though I was very well-provided for by my parents (Thank you mom and dad!).

But I believe that experience served me well because it drove me to work really hard in life. This determination stuck with me, getting into the university of my dreams and well into my professional career in entertainment and as a real estate entrepreneur.

From humble beginnings and hard work hard I eventually did experience the more ‘luxurious’ lifestyle. I wore the designer brands, ate at fancy restaurants and travelled in luxury.

I spent my time and money on things, places and people I thought would complete me and bring me happiness.

But the truth is, no thing and no one could ever complete me…and it won’t for you either.

Sure these things may give “moments” of happiness but as soon as reality hits, those feelings of happiness will subside and the feeling of emptiness will eventually return.

I’m here to tell you that it’s absolutely possible to let go of what is no longer serving you.

When you acknowledge the lessons learned from your life experiences, with love and compassion, you can begin to shift your perspective and receive the clarity you need on how to move forward towards greater peace, love and happiness.

I still enjoy well-tailored clothing (for which I never pay full price!), delicious food, and amazing holidays, but I do believe life is all about balance, all while investing in your health and well-being.

If getting those things is at the expense of your health, happiness and harmony, then it’s not worth it.

Let’s face it. Our bodies will be around a lot longer than that expensive hand bag or pair of shoes.

From my own commitment to personal growth and working with coaching clients the biggest test to see what’s really important to you is to see how you spend your time and money.

Do you long to have more meaning, connection, peace and joy in your life?

Are you curious to know where you’re placing importance in your life?

Are you ready to be happy in a life you love?

If you’ve answered “yes”, then I invite you to do the following exercise:

  • Look back at your calendar for the past 3 months. Where have you been spending your TIME? What are your top 3 priorities?
  • Look at your checkbook (or online accounts) for the past 3 months. Where have you been spending your MONEY? What are your top 3 priorities?

As you look back at your calendar and checkbook start to reflect and journal on how do you FEEL when you see how you’re spending your time and money.

I encourage you to think and journal about what it is you really want versus how you actually invest your time and money. Then modify, add or delete what is not or no longer serving you.

Make space for something or someone new to come into your life.

If after doing this exercise you feel you can use some guidance and support in shifting your energy and priorities then let’s talk. Coaching can help. I would be honoured to meet you wherever you are in your journey. Contact me today for your complimentary 30 minutes Discovery Call.
